Marlin serial number year - My 57M has no identifiable serial number which means it was made in either 1960 or 1961. That being said--I also had to take the stock off and look for any hidden serial numbers or letters. There weren't any to be seen on my rifle--which narrowed down the manufacturing year to 1960 or 1961.
